Use Wax in Your Vape

Flowermate Australia and a whole range of vaporizers can be used for more than just herbs. A growing number of vaporizers are being built with capabilities to use oils and waxes. Which means your vaping session just got a whole lot better with a whole new way to smoke. Vaping wax is a super simple method and offers its own unique pleasures that your herbal mixes can’t provide.

Today we’ll be going over just how using wax in your vaporizer works, so if you decide to change up your smoking experience, you’ll be fully prepared and ready to go.

The Wax

If you choose to use wax you should also be warned that this form is a lot more potent than oil or herbal mix, since it's a true and more pure substance.

First thing you’ll need to do is double check that you’re actually able to use wax in your vaporizer. Not all vapes can use wax, so if you don’t want to risk breaking or damaging your precious vaporizer do your research beforehand.

Your wax will come in either a brittle, soft, pliable, or wax-like form. Regardless of what form your wax takes, you need to take care of it in the same way. It should be stored in an airtight glass or silicone jar, it has to be in either of these forms as they both have non-stick surfaces, which will make removing the wax easier and won’t contaminate your wax.

When it comes time to use the wax, you will need a dab tool to scoop it out of the container and into the vaporizer. Nearly every wax vaporizer includes a dab tool, so you never really need to worry about getting one. However, you can always buy an extra one so that you never have to worry about losing the one included in the kit.

How Much Wax Should You Use?

You measure your wax concentration through ‘dabs’, while there isn’t a specific measurement for this, many people are still flocking to use other alternatives in their vaporizers. Wax is usually somewhere in the 60% range when it comes to potency. These ‘dabs’ are measured by the dabbing tool that you use, most of these tools will hold a similar amount of wax. It’s recommended that you use a tool that is specified for this, so you don’t find yourself becoming overwhelmed by your wax concentrate.

Temperature Settings

If it’s your first-time using wax in a vaporizer, it’s recommended that you set the temperature at around 155°C to 230°C.

As you get used to using wax, you can start to experiment with higher settings to find your personal preference between high or low-temperature dabbing. You’ll find that low temperatures are better for flavour and high temps are better for vaping intensity and cloud production.
