Sanitising For Stoners' - How to clean your vaporiser

Flowermate vapes Australia

A clean vape is a happy vape, that's what we and Flowermate vapes Australia like to think. While the ingredients of vape juice won't stain your equipment, residue and build-up can happen, affecting the performance of your favourite vape. A gunked up coil will lose flavour and can make your vape taste burnt. Even if you quickly clean your vape from time to time, you have to make sure a really thorough clean is taken, especially after using strong vape juice flavours like tobacco, coffee, menthol and cinnamon.

If you're a newbie or just want to make sure you're cleaning your vape in the most efficient way you're in luck. We'll be going over the best ways to clean your vape so you can get a quality hit every time.

How To Clean Vape Tank

First step: take the coil out and the rest of the tank apart. Keep it all organized and don't lose any pieces. You can use a small bowl to do this, it'll make cleaning much easier. You then have the option for a standard or thorough rinse out.

If your tank is relatively clean, warm water will work well for a quick rinse through. Take the tank apart. Place each part under running water and dry them with a paper towel. Let them air dry until no water is visible. Before putting everything back together.

If after the steps above your parts are still messy and clogged up, don't fret there's an extra step to take before you'll have to knock it up to a thorough deep clean.

Take a bowl of water and place it in the microwave for two minutes, we don't want boiling water just a bit warmer than before. When it's warm, place your disassembled tank in there.

Let it sit, until the water cools down, then give it one last rinse. Pat the pieces dry and place it aside until completely dry. Before putting everything back together. This extra step should help if you found rinsing everything just wasn't enough.

If your tank needs a deeper cleansing, you can follow the same first set of steps but replacing warm water with a cleaning agent. You can use Baking soda, ethanol, cheap vodka or vinegar. You'll really want to make sure everything is rinsed out, so it won't affect your next use.

If you're looking for a more care-free approach to cleaning out your vape tank then you could consider buying an ultrasonic cleaner. These are usually used to clean jewellery or metals; it's an efficient easy way to deep clean your parts. If you're opting for this option we recommend only using a 10 minute cycle, as well as quickly rinsing everything before leaving to air dry.

How To Clean Coils

Cleaning coils is a little less straightforward. As there are two different types of coils used in most vapes, it means two different cleaning methods.

If your vape has replaceable coils, try letting the dirty coils soak. This will remove some of the residue, but not all of it. This method takes a little longer because you'll need to wait for the water to fully dry and evaporate before reassembling it. There is also the possibility that the wicks will have to be changed, even if you've given them a good clean out.

Again, this soak and rinse method can be used for a thorough clean of your replaceable coils with different cleaning agents. Try letting your coil soak in ethanol, vinegar or cheap vodka for at least a couple of hours. Then rinse and repeat again with some distilled water. Blow air on the open side of your coil to force water to the wicking holes, then set aside to completely dry.

If your vape is built with rebuildable coils the first thing you'll have to do is remove the wicks from your coil, cause you don't want to burn them. If your coils are not that bad, a light dry burn will do the trick. Pulse the fire button a few times until there's no remaining liquid, let them cool down and re-wick.

If dry burning isn't cleaning your coils enough then you can try another method. First remove the wicks from the coils. Try a light dry burn, not nearly as intense as before. Remove the atomizer and place it under running water. Grab an old tooth or coil cleaning tool and scrub away. Finally rinse one last time and do another dry burn to remove any excess water.

With anything proper cleaning will greatly extend the life of your Pulsar Vape, and save you having to replace parts or the whole unit. It's important to note that cleaning can't fix everything and at some point, they will succumb to time and extensive use.
